The History of Loafers
What we know as loafers today originated in Norway in the 1900's, affectionately called 'weejuns'! Students travelling to Scandinavia saw fishermen wearing moccasin shoes, they took their inspiration to the US where they added a strap across the top of the shoe, and this is where the loafer was born – the penny loafer to be exact!
Over the last century, loafers have gained global status and have evolved to become the most-loved footwear staple amongst ladies and gents, demonstrating that classic style really can stand the test of time.
